Abstract
These Regulations lay down general rules relative to recreational fishing in marine waters.
A recreational permit shall be obtainable from the South African Postal Services. The Regulations, among other things: prohibit fishing without a permit and the sale, barter or trade of any fish caught through recreational fishing; prohibit the use of various fishing devices; prohibit the disturbing, catching, killing or being in possession of any dolphin or whales or the damaging, gathering or landing of any live or dead coral; require a permit issued by the Director-General to culture any marine organisms; and require a permit to catch any fish or collect any aquatic plants for commercial purposes.
