Marketing of Agricultural Products Act, 1996: Continuation of Statutory Measure: records and returns by brokers, traders, processors, importers and exporters of wool (R. No. 473 of 2012).

This Statutory Measure of the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, made under sections 13 and 18 of the Marketing of Agricultural Products Act, 1996, requires producers, brokers, traders, buyers, processors, importers and exporters of wool to keep records and furnish returns on specified recorded particulars to Cape Wools SA, a non-profit organization. This requirement is necessary to ensure that continuous, up-to-date and accurate market information relating to characteristics and the marketing and sale of wool is made available to all role players in the wool industry so as to enhance the development of the sector.
