Marketing of Agricultural Products Act: Establishment of statutory measure and determination of guideline prices: levies relating to pecans and pecan products (No. R. 608 of 2015).

This Measure of the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries requires producers, packers, processors and importers of pecans and/or pecan products to pay a levy on pecans and/or pecan products included in transactions as specified. The levy shall be paid to South African Pecan Nut Producers Association NPS (SAPPA). The Measure seeks to provide financial support to SAPPA to fund research projects, information and technology transfer; plant improvement functions and certification; market information and statistics; communication; trade and market access; and transformation and training for the pecan nut industry.
