Marketing of Agricultural Products Act: Establishment of Statutory Measure: Registration by abattoirs and exporters of live pigs (No. R. 1018 of 2010).

This Statutory Measure requires facilities for the slaughter of pigs to register with the South African Pork Producers' Organisation ("the levy administrator") so as to obtain viable market information for the pork and pig breeding industry. The Statutory measure shall apply to abattoirs where pigs are slaughtered for commercial use and to exporters of live pigs. The establishment of the Statutory Measure aims at enhancing the efficiency of the marketing of pork.
