Abstract
These Regulations give effect to Chapter VI (Carriage of Cargoes) of the Safety Convention as mentioned in the Merchant Shipping Act. They concern the cargo in bulk on board of South African ships.
They provide rules relative to transportation of cargo including grain in bulk. Also the use of pesticides in cargo spaces is regulated. Every ship carrying a cargo of grain, as defined in section 263 of the Merchant Shipping Act, shall comply with requirements of the International Grain Code.
