National Environmental Management Act: National standards for the extraction, flaring or recovery of landfill gas (GN. No. 924 of 2013).

This Notice of the Minister of Water and Environmental Affairs, made under section 19 of the National Environmental Management: Waste Act, 2008, provides norms and standards for the control of the extraction, flaring or recovery of landfill gas at facilities as described in paragraph 4. The standards and norms concern, among other things: planning, design and construction of the facility, operations, management of emergency situations and decommissioning of facilities. The standards also contain monitoring and reporting requirements.
