Abstract
This Notice of the Minister of Water and Environmental Affairs, made under sections 53, 55, 56 and 57 of the National Environmental Management: Air Quality Act, 2004, introduce Regulations that regulate the management and phasing out of ozone-depleting substances. They prohibit the production, import, export, use or placing on the market of any ozone-depleting substances and equipment or products that contain such substances. The Regulations provide for the recovery of ozone-depleting substances, prohibit the stockpiling of ozone depleting substances listing in Schedule 1 to these Regulations and provide for the reporting. A person who has a stockpile of listed ozone-depleting substance must submit an abatement plan as defined to the Director-General.
