National Environmental Management: Biodiversity Act: National list of invasive species (No. 507 of 2013).

This Notice of the Minister of Water and Environmental Affairs, made under section 70 of the National Environmental Management: Biodiversity Act, 2004, establishes for purposes of Chapter 5 the list of invasive plant and animal species, including fish species, aquatic animals and birds. Section 70 provides that within 24 months of the date on which that section takes effect, the Minister must by notice in the Gazette, publish a national list of invasive species in respect of which Chapter 5 must be applied nationally. Chapter 5 concerns species and organisms posing potential threats to biodiversity.
