National Environmental Management: Waste Act: National norms and Standards for the storage of waste (GN. 926 of 2013).

This Notice of the Minister of Water and Environmental Affairs, made under section 7 of the National Environmental Management: Waste Act, 2008, provides norms and standards for the control of the storage of (hazardous) waste and the management of waste storage facilities. The norms and standards concern, among other things: registration of new storage facilities with the competent authority, location and construction, operation and management of facilities, requirements for above ground facilities and underground storage containers, emergency preparedness, auditing, decommissioning, monitoring, record keeping and reporting to authorities.
