Poultry Regulations (No. R. 153 of 2006).

These Regulations prescribe rules relative to the slaughtering of poultry and the processing and placing on the market of meat. The Regulations make provision, among other things, for: registration of abattoirs, hygiene management and evaluation systems, humane treatment of birds in the slaughter process, handling and storage of carcasses and meat, inspection and marking of meat and treatment of condemned meat. The Regulations also contain some rules relative to the importation and exportation of poultry meat and the slaughtering of birds for cultural or religious purposes or for own use. The Regulations seem to apply only slaughtering and meat of fowl, duck, pheasant, guinea fowl, goose, turkey, pigeon, partridge, quail and baby fowl.
