Records and returns by abattoirs and other role-players - Statutory Measure (No. R. 808 of 2005).

This Statutory Measure requires abattoirs to render records and returns on cattle, goats, sheep and pigs and products derived from such animals to the levy administrator defined in a Levy Notice issued under the Marketing of Agricultural Products Act, 1996. This is necessary to ensure that continuous, up-to-date and accurate information relating to designated animals slaughtered and marketed is available to all persons involved market so as to enhance the viability of the red meat industry.
