Regulations made under the Electricity Regulation Act, 2006 (No. R. 79 of 2009).

These Regulations implement provisions of the Electricity Act, 2006 in respect of purchase by buyers designed by the Ministry of Minerals and Energy of electricity generated by so-called Independent Power Producers.
It sets out rules for a fair bidding and procurement process and access for Independent Power Producers to the grid system to be provided by the system operator.
