Abstract
These Regulations, made under section 15 of the Foodstuffs, Cosmetics and Disinfectants Act, 1972 specify requirements for the use of melamine in the manufacture of foodstuffs. They specify, for purposes of section 2 (1)(b)(i) levels of melamine above which foodstuffs that contain such levels are considered contaminated, impure or adulterated. Levels are also specified for infant formulas and food for children under 36 months of age. The Regulations also specify a compulsory method of official analysis.
