Abstract
These Regulations, issued by the Minister of Agriculture under section 15 of the Agricultural Product Standards Act, 1990, specify standards for tomatoes to be sold in South Africa and provide rules relative to the sale of tomatoes on the domestic market. They do not apply to imported tomatoes that comply with specified international standards (including Codex Alimentarius). The Regulations prescribe classes for tomatoes and standards for such classes of tomatoes. The Regulations also provide rules relative to packing and marking of containers for tomatoes and inspection of tomatoes.
