Regulations under the Hazardous Substances Act, 1973: Group IV Hazardous Substances (No. R. 247 of 1993).

These Regulations made by the Deputy Minister of National Health under section 29 of the Hazardous Substances Act, 1973, provide rules for the control of Group IV Hazardous Substances (radioactive substances). An application for a written authority as referred to in section 3A of the Act to acquire, dispose of, import, export being in possession of, using or conveying a Group IV substance shall be in the form as may be obtained from the Director-General. Such written authority may be subject to conditions. The Regulations also, among other things: set out conditions for prescribed activities and provide with respect to protection from radiation and monitoring of radiation.
