Abstract
These Rules, made by the South African Veterinary Council under section 30(1) of the Veterinary and Para-Veterinary Professions Act, 1982, amend the Rules relating to the practising of veterinary professions in subrule (1) of rule 10 regarding the administration of medicines by a veterinary professional. The veterinary professional shall, in administering the medicine, consider the risk for animal health and the risk for consumers caused by possible residues of the medicine. These Rules also insert new subrules 10(1A) and 10 (1B) into the principal Regulations. These subrules concern administration of medicines to wildlife and the donation of medicines.
