Statutory Measure relative to registration of milk producers (No. R. 1154 of 2003).

This Regulation, made by the Minister of Agriculture under sections 13 and 19 of the Marketing of Agricultural Products Act, 1996 requires all milk producers to register with the Milk Producers’ Organisation. Milk producers are persons that keep bovines, goats or sheep for the production of milk. This compulsory registration is necessary to establish a national database of producers so as to facilitate measures regarding food safety and other measures to benefit the dairy sector, in particular with a view to the exportation of milk.
