Abstract
This Act amends the Traditional Leadership and Governance Framework Act, 2003 by extending the period within which a recognised kingship or queenship must establish a kingship or queenship council. The Act currently determines that a kingship or queenship council must be established within one year from the date of recognition of the kingship or queenship. A number of kingships were recognised in following decisions by the then Commission on Traditional Leadership Disputes and Claims. However, no councils were established in time.
