Abstract
This Act concerns the development of the coffee industry in Zambia. The text consists of 56 sections, divided into 7 Parts: Preliminary (I); Coffee Board of Zambia (II); Production, curing, classification, marketing and export of coffee (III); Distinguishing marks (IV); Licensing (V); Finance (VI); Miscellaneous (VII).
The Board is established as a body corporate (sect. 3). The Board shall regulate and promote the coffee industry and the marketing of coffee as well as advise Government (sect. 7). No coffee other than Arabica shall be grown in Zambia (sect. 17). The Association may regulate the production and curing of coffee, the collection, packaging and storage (sect. 18). Sections 20 to 23 provide for coffee growers' certificates and coffee treatment establishment certificates. The Coffee Licensing Committee shall maintain a register of all land planted with coffee (sect. 24). Coffee shall only be classified by the Association (sect. 26).
