Abstract
This Act empowers the Minister to make Regulations for Zambia, or any part thereof, for all or any of the following purposes: (a) prescribing the qualifications, powers and duties of inspectors; (b) prescribing the manner in which premises, numbers and marks shall be registered under this Act; (c) prescribing the manner of branding or marking on packages containing dairy produce; (d) prescribing the conditions upon which and the manner in which samples shall be taken for purposes of inspection, analysis or examination under this Act, and the mode of dealing with or disposing of such samples; (e) prescribing the manner of aerating and cooling dairy produce; (f) prescribing the manner of disposing of condemned dairy produce; (g) prescribing the manner in which the grading and testing of dairy produce and the examination of candidates for certificates in grading and testing such produce shall be carried out; (h) prescribing the patterns and standards of receptacles used in testing milk and cream, and the testing of thermometers and glassware; etc. Section 3 specifies penalties for contravening provisions made under this Act.
