Forests (Export of Timber) Regulations, 2015 (S.I. No.94 of 2015).

These Regulations place restrictions on the exportation of timber and timber products from Zambia. They also specify species of timber that may not be used to manufacture railway sleepers. Specified timber and timber may be exported by holders of a concession licence or a timber merchants with a permit to be issued by the Director of Forestry. The Director shall, where the applicant meets the requirements of the Act, issue a permit in Form III set out in the Schedule. He or she shall reject an application for a permit if— (a) the applicant fails to meet the requirements of the Act; (b) the permit issued to the applicant was cancelled by the Director; or (c) the applicant is convicted of an offence under the Act or any other written law. The Department shall keep and maintain a register of permits in Form VIII set out in the Schedule. The Regulations also concern suspension or cancellation of a permit, restriction on quantities of timber to be exported, and inspection and clearance before export and other export procedures.
