Abstract
These Regulations, consisting of 49 articles, are designed to ensure the proper implementation of activities related to radiation protection and safety to protect individuals and the public from ionising radiation in nuclear medicine facilities. Key provisions include (i) Radiation Protection Management, which mandates qualified staff, continuous professional development, and a comprehensive radiation protection program; (ii) Standards for Medical Radiological Equipment, covering testing, commissioning, and maintenance; (iii) Occupational Radiation Protection, defining controlled and supervised areas, along with requirements for protective clothing and contamination procedures; (iv) Radiation Protection for Individuals, addressing medical exposure protocols, including guidelines for pregnant and breastfeeding patients; and (v) Public Radiation Protection, which regulates public exposure, controls access, and manages radioactive waste and deceased patients.
