Metrology (Amendment) Act, 2026 (Act No. 24 of 2026).

This Act, comprising 4 sections, amends the principal Act as follows (i) Section 2 is amended by inserting new definitions, namely “Energy Regulation Board” and “higher education institution”; (ii) Section 7 is repealed and replaced with a new provision establishing the composition and governance of the Board of the Agency, including the creation of a part-time Board appointed by the Minister, its membership, appointment procedures, selection of the Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson, eligibility requirements for members, and the application of the First Schedule; (iii) the heading of the First Schedule is replaced to align the Schedule with the revised provisions relating to the administration of the Agency and the structure of its Board.
