NDC Implementation Framework for Zambia 2023 - 2030.

The NDC Implementation Framework is a comprehensive national document spanning multiple sectors, designed to (i) facilitate actions addressing climate change, (ii) provide a dashboard delineating priority sectors, outcomes, and key performance indicators, and (iii) offer guidance from the Zambian Government to its people regarding necessary actions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to climate change impacts by 2030. Within the framework of the Eighth National Development Plan (8NDP), environmental sustainability has been identified as a crucial strategic focus, necessitating a 25% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030. To this end, the Government will utilize the NDC Implementation Framework as a strategic tool to translate the aspirations of the 8NDP into actionable measures for environmental sustainability. This will involve the implementation of eleven clustered sectors and eighteen outcome areas to guide both adaptation and mitigation efforts. Key sectors targeted for action include Banking and Finance, Agriculture, Forestry, Energy, Building and Infrastructure, Waste Management, Water Resources, Livestock, Industry, Transport, and Health.
