Abstract
This Regulation consisting of 25 articles aims at regulating the issuance of the different licenses and permits under the Zambia Wildlife Act No. 12 of 1998. It deals with the following licenses (i) both non-resident and resident hunting license; (ii) bird license; (iii) special license (i.e. scientific research or collection of specimens for zoological gardens, museums or education; game animal or protected animal; for rearing any wild animal); (iv) both professional and apprentice professional hunter; (v) both professional and apprentice professional guide; (vi) photographic tour operator; (vii) hunting outfitter’s license; (viii) restricted professional hunter; (ix) commercial photographic. The Resolution regulates the granting of the permits for (i) both import and export wild animals, meat or trophies; (ii) trophy dealer; (iii) enter national park; (iv) fishing in national park.
Article 14 establishes that licenses issued under the Act are not transferable. Article 15 states that the Director General may, at any time, (a) grant; (b) refuse to grant; (c) suspend; (d) revoke; or (e) cancel; any license under these Regulations. Articles 16 and 17 provides for rules regarding, respectively, the certificate of ownership of trophies and the certificate of ownership of game animals or protected animal. In the Annexes are attached all the forms to apply for the different types of licenses and permits, and the related fees.
