Abstract
This Act regulates the use of farm equipment, i.e. any movables used for agricultural purposes on any agricultural land acquired for resettlement purposes under the Land Reform Programme, and provides for the control of use of farm equipment. Section 3 prohibits wilful destruction of farm equipment without the permission in writing of the acquiring authority (sect. 2). After the identification and valuation of farm equipment or material in terms of sections 4 and 5 of this Act, the acquiring authority may, if there is no agreement for the purchase of the farm equipment or material concerned, compulsorily acquire the farm equipment (sect. 7). Any farm equipment or material acquired in terms of this Act shall vest in the State for the benefit of the Land Reform Programme and shall not be sold or otherwise disposed of to any private individual, institution or corporation.
