Abstract
These Regulations of the Minister of Agriculture, Mechanisation and Irrigation Development, made under section 50 of the Agricultural Marketing Authority Act, allows the Minister, at the beginning of the marketing season, to announce the minimum price to be paid for grain. "Grain" means maize, sorghum, pearl millet (mhunga), tinger millet (rapoko) and wheat. Purchasers of gran shall pay producers not less than the minimum price as announced by the Minister. Grain shall be purchased either from the producer or use designated buying points which shall be Grain Marketing Board (GMB) depots for GMB purchases, or contractor's premises in the case of contracted farmers.
