Abstract
These Regulations are made in terms of section 5 of the Animal Health Act [Chapter 121]. Section 3 requires the owner an animal suffering from a notifiable disease to report the same to authorized person or police officer and the owner of other animals in the vicinity. Section 5 states that diseased animals must be isolated and section 7 provides for furnishing of specimen from diseased animals. Section 9 lays down the procedure for disposal of diseased animals that have died. Section 11 requires reporting of animals which stray into Zimbabwe from outside. The Schedules mention the specified animals, specified diseases, notifiable diseases, specified pests and prescribed diseases.
