Abstract
These by-laws are made in terms of section 90 of the Rural District Council Act [Chapter 29:13] for the council area under the jurisdiction of Bindura Rural District Council (Council). They contain the procedure to be followed by the developers of any projects in the council area for which an environmental impact assessment is required in terms of section 97 and the First Schedule to the Environmental Management Act [Chapter 20:27]. The bye-laws also provide for rehabilitation work in respect of environmental damage or environmental degradation in the council area. They require land users and owners to put in place appropriate fire prevention measures on their land. Further, the Bye-laws provide for provisions relating to invasive alien species, protection of rivers and wetlands, sand abstraction, brick moulding, waste management and mining activities.
