Abstract
This Act provides rules relative to the constitution, registration, functioning and winding up of co-operative societies, establishes the National Co-operative Federation and the Central Co-operative Fund and makes provision in general for the development and organization of the cooperative movement in Zimbabwe.
Co-operative societies shall be registered with the registrar of Co-operative Societies. The Act specifies the structure of the co-operative movement of Zimbabwe and sets out co-operative principles. Apex societies may form, with the approval of the Minister, a National Co-operative Federation.

An Act to provide for the formation, registration, regulation, management, functioning and dissolution of co-operative societies in accordance with co-operative principles and in pursuance of Government policy and self-reliance; to provide for the formation of a National Co-operative Federation; to provide for the establishment of a Central Co-operative Fund; and to provide for matters connected with or incidental to the foregoing.
