Control of Goods (Open General Import Licence) Standards Assessment–Consignment Based Conformity Assessment (CBCA) Notice, 2024 (SI 35 of 2024)

Abstract
Subject to any other law in Zimbabwe, this Notice shall apply to any person who imports the goods specified in the Fourth Schedule with a Free on Board Value of more than one thousand United States dollars (US$1 000) or its equivalent. The goods in schedule 1 shall be subject to Consignment Based Conformity Assessment irrespective of Free-on-Board value. The assessment of goods shall be conducted in the country of origin by the appointed Conformity Assessment Body. Any goods listed in the First Schedule and Second Schedule that arrive in Zimbabwe without a Certificate of Conformity shall be liable to a compulsory destination assessment process prior to final customs clearance. An importer or exporter seeking a consignment-based conformity certificate shall submit a formal application to the designated Conformity Assessment body.
