Abstract
This Act introduces a series of measures to control the spreading of the African migratory locust, the brown locust, the desert locust and the red locus in Zimbabwe.
Section 3 requires owners or occupiers of land to notify specified authorities on occurrence of swarms of locusts on their land. The Minister of Agriculture may provide free of charge an occupier or owner of land with material to fight locusts (sect. 4). The owner shall appropriately use the material provided and following the directions given by the Minister. The Minister may give orders to occupiers or owners pursuant to section 5. Sections 8 to 10 prescribe offences and penalties and section 11 specifies regulation-making powers of the Minister.
