Natural Resources Act.

The text of the Act consists of 66 sections and a Schedule. The sections are divided into 8 Parts: Preliminary (I); Natural Resources Board (II); Appeals from Decisions of the Board (III); Conservation and Improvement of Natural Resources in Areas Other Than Communal Land (IV); Conservation Areas (V); Conservation and Improvement of Natural Resources in Communal Land (VI); Construction of Works in Communal Land for Conservation of Natural Resources (VII); General (VIII).
A Natural Resources Board, consisting of not less than eight members appointed by the President, is established under section 3. The Board shall exercise general supervision over natural resources and and carry out specific duties assigned to it by this Act (sect. 10). Holders of land, as defined in section 33, wishing to erect works in the area where they hold land for purposes of conservation of natural resources, may petition to the Minister in writing to declare such area to be an intensive conservation area (sect. 34). The holders who hold land in such an area shall form conservation committees (sect. 36).
