Abstract
The aims of the Climate Resilience Act are to rebuild Dominica as a climate resilient nation which is better able to withstand future hurricanes, earthquakes and other natural disasters with minimal loss of life and minimal damage to infrastructure, property, and livelihoods. The Act was passed following the devastation caused by Hurricane Maria in 2017.
Part III of the Act provides a four year mandate to the Climate Resilience Execution Agency for Dominica (CREAD). The functions of CREAD include the preparation of the Dominica Climate Resilience and Recovery Plan, the implementation of recovery measures, and a number of capacity building and knowledge sharing activities.
