Abstract
The purpose of this Decree is to regulate the management of meat waste and animal corpses generated by livestock activities derived from the management of wildlife, veterinary, slaughtering industries and establishments carrying out meat production and transformation activities and other activities that can generate similar waste. This Decree aims at guaranteeing the protection of both directly exposed people and public health, the protection of the environment and the preservation of natural resources. This Regulation applies to: a) farms, facilities and equipment intended for animal breeding; b) hospitals, clinics and consultations that carry out veterinary services of welfare services; c) establishments and centres carrying out production activities, manufacture, processing of meat and meat products; d) other activities from which waste can be generated that, due to its typology and management, can be assimilated to meat waste, including the possession by private individuals of domestic animals or parts of animals originating from hunting species. The management of meat residues in the production centres must be carried out according to segregation, safety and economic criteria.
