Decree 257/2022, of 15-6-2022, approving the Regulation establishing the conditions for the import, export and transport of protected flora.

This Decree approves the Regulation establishing the conditions for the import, export and transport of protected flora. The Regulation develops articles 9 and 13 of Law 7/2019, of 7 February, on the conservation of the natural environment, biodiversity and landscape and aims to ensure the conservation and protection of protected flora and to control its trade in compliance with the objectives, principles and provisions of the CITES Convention. Its provisions apply to the import, export or re-export and transport of protected flora.
The Department of Environment and Sustainability is the administrative authority with the main responsibility for the application of the CITES Convention, of this Regulation and of the communication with the competent European and international institutions.
The import, export, re-export and transport regulations of protected flora are regulated by Chapter 2 of the text which sets up the relevant requirements, the proceedings and the conditions for the transport of protected live flora.
