Abstract
The Law, consisting of 61 articles divided into eight Titles, establishes the legal system for the protection, conservation, improvement, restoration and sustainable use of the natural environment, biodiversity and landscape of the Principality of Andorra, both for current and future generations, and in particular habitats to ensure that native fauna and flora are preserved in a favourable state, to ensure the rational use of land and all natural resources, as established in the article 31 of the Constitution. In particular, Title I defines general principles that must guide the actions of the administrations in the matter of conservation of the natural environment, biodiversity and landscape. Title II establishes the National Strategy for Biodiversity of Andorra, to plan and coordinate in the field of conservation of the natural environment and biodiversity. It also creates the Commission for the Coordination and Development of the National Strategy for Biodiversity in Andorra as an advisory and coordination body between the Government, the communes and the civil society. Title III establishes the principles for the conservation of biodiversity, both in the genetic field and in the priority habitats. Measures are introduced to preserve the health of people and the environment, such as the possibility of reducing or prohibiting harmful chemicals.
Title IV defines and classifies protected natural areas, establishing the following categories: natural parks, natural reserves and natural monuments, and protected natural spaces, as well as the basic axes of their management. Title V regulates the management of the forests of the Principality. The communal forestry management plans are established as basic instruments to regulate them, preventing the deforestation and in the fight against climate change. Title VI regulates the protection, management and planning of the natural heritage, in accordance with the principles of the European Landscape Convention, and establishes the National Landscape Strategy as a framework for the protection of the landscape of Andorra. Title VII regulates professional activities in the natural environment. Title VIII establishes the regime for inspection and control of the provisions contained in this Law, the classification of offences and the sanctioning regime in related matters.

Entry into force notes
This Law enters into force on the day after its publication in the Official Gazette of the Principality of Andorra.
Notes
This Law repeals Law of 9 November 1983 on protection of the cultural and natural heritage of Andorra, and any provision of equal or inferior rank that is in opposition to the one established by this Law, is repealed.
