Decree 317/2021, of 29-9-2021, approving the Regulations for major events in the natural environment.

This Decree approves the Regulation of major events in the natural environment, the purpose of which is to establish the conditions that must be met to organize major events of a sporting, festive or cultural nature, or any other type of major event that takes place in the natural environment and that may affect it.
According to the Regulation, the organization of large events in the natural environment are subject to compliance with the some requirements, among which the minimization of negative impacts on the natural environment and the landscape; the avoidance of affecting aquatic habitats; the restoration of the conditions of the natural environment once the event has ended; the carrying out of waste collection, installing containers for selective waste collection; the signing of the itineraries and event venues using recycled or recyclable material, avoiding paints and sprays and tapes that can be moved by the wind; removal, once the event has ended, of all waste and debris, organic and inorganic, that have been generated during the development of the event; having the services of an environmental management, duly authorised to operate in Andorra, which ensures compliance with the requirements established in these Regulations and other environmental regulations in force.
The text establishes further provisions for the case of major events that affect protected natural areas or endangered species, which must be subject to the environmental assessment procedure, or for major events affecting native wildlife, which must obtain authorization from the ministry responsible for wildlife or, in case they are organized by professionals who have the recognition in the protection and conservation of the natural environment of Andorra, by the ministry responsible for the environment.
