Abstract
This document is the Decree 75/2024 of the Government of Andorra, approving the Regulation on the authorization conditions for the exploitation of water captures intended for human consumption.
The regulation establishes the technical, administrative, and protective criteria for different types of water catchments (Types A, B, and C), based on flow rate, population served, and type of management (communal or private). It introduces a protection perimeter and three areas of influence (immediate, proximal, and distant) to safeguard water quality. A Technical Committee on Water for Human Consumption (CTACH) is created to coordinate inter-ministerial evaluations, and a Registry of water captures is established under the Ministry of Health. The regulation also defines the authorization procedure, environmental and hydrogeological study requirements, sanctions framework, and transitional provisions for existing captures to adapt within five years.
