Abstract
This Decree, consisting of 16 articles, approves the Regulation on the transport, importation and export conditions of wild animals. This regulation develops article 5 of Law No. 11/2016 of 28 June on the possession and protection of animals, and aims to protect wildlife species, ensure their conservation and control their commercialization. This Regulation applies in compliance with the objectives, principles and provisions of the CITES Convention. The competence to manage and apply the provisions of this Regulation is under the Department of the Government responsible for fauna. The provisions of this Regulation apply to the transport, import and export of live or dead animals and of wild products or parts derived from native and non-native wildlife species, with the exception of products obtained through of hunting or fishing activities. The export or re-export of species included in Appendices I and II of the CITES Convention, or protected species in the Principality of Andorra, is subject to the issuance of a certificate of commercialization issued by the Department. The export or re-export certificate is valid for the specified wild species and for a period of six months from the date of issue.
