Law 18/2024 on hunting.

This Law, which is organized into 9 titles and 4 final dispositions, aims to regulate the practice of hunting in a way that is compatible with the protection, conservation and sustainable use of the natural environment, fauna and national biodiversity, respecting the international commitments acquired.
Title 2 identifies the huntable species and clarifies that only those species of wild animals that are defined by regulations, in accordance with this Law and the international agreements signed by the Principality of Andorra, are huntable. Regulated species and species subject to a hunting plan can be defined: a) Those that are dangerous to public health or safety. b) Those that cause significant damage to agricultural and forestry activities, habitats, fauna or flora in general.
Title 3 identifies the hunting grounds and classifies them in: a) Common hunting ground areas b) Hunting areas c) Temporary hunting areas.
Title 4 establishes hunting safety rules which concern the identification of security zones, of hunter responsibility criteria, of precautionary and safety measures and of hunting restrictions.
Title 5 regulates the hunting requirements, hunting permits and licenses and Title 6, which covers the hunting period, provides that the exercise of the right to hunt is subject to the opening and closing dates of the hunting periods and the hunting days for each species, set annually by the ministry responsible for hunting.
Title 7 describes the hunting systems and include provisions on the types of weapons that can be used, the management of captured pieces, the use of dogs etc.
Title 8 sets up the Hunting Monitoring Commission and regulates its composition. Title 9 provides for the sanctioning regime and procedures.
