Abstract
This Regulation consisting of 19 articles and 3 Annexes aims at implementing Federal Law No. 24 of 1999 on the Environment Protection and Development.
It establishes that for handling or dealing in hazardous material, hazardous waste and medical wastes is needed a license issued by the competent authorities (license issue procedures and conditions are explained in details). It also deals with import, packing, transport, storage and handling of hazardous chemical materials (including dangerous agricultural materials and wastes). Rules and procedures are set up regarding generation, collection and storage, transport, treatment and disposal, recycling, reusing and incineration of hazardous wastes (excluded radioactive) whether in liquid, gaseous or solid state (all installations for treating hazardous wastes must be licensed). General rules and procedures are set up also for medical wastes management (sort, packaging and disposing).
