Abstract
These Regulations, comprising 14 articles, set forth the rules established by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology to ensure the safety of products entering the UAE market. Article 2 concerns the controls of accepting conformity certificates from the approved entity. Article 4 sets forth the rules and controls suppliers must follow when submitting a risk assessment report, including accurate product labeling, providing safety information in Arabic and English, and avoiding misleading claims. Suppliers are responsible for ensuring product safety, compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations, and taking necessary actions to mitigate risks, including product recalls if required. Risk assessment report requirements are listed in Article 5. Customs authorities shall prevent the entry of any unsafe product if it is deemed non-compliant under the law or lacks a certification from the Ministry or an approved entity confirming its safety (Article 6) and the competent authority may inspect, test, and monitor products in the market, coordinate risk warnings, access supplier facilities, and request technical documents to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
