Ministerial Resolution No. 302 of 2001 issuing the Implementing Regulation for Federal Law No. 23 of 1999 on the exploitation, protection and development of living aquatic resources in the United Arab Emirates.

This Resolution consists of 9 Chapters divided into 77 articles. Article 1 deals with terms and definitions. Chapter I regulates the fishing profession (arts. 2-4). Chapter II deals with the registration measures (arts. 5-12). Chapter III deals with licences for fishing vessels and their number (arts. 13-19). Chapter IV pertains to the protection and development of fishing areas, fishing gear and methods, fishing rules, fishing season, fishing requirements for divers, exportation of ornamental fish, prohibited fishing areas, protected areas, mariculture, protected species (marine turtles, sponges, oyster shell corals), etc. (arts. 20-53). Chapter V regulates fish trade, processing and marketing (arts. 54-59). Chapter VI deals with loans for fishermen (arts. 60-64). Chapter VII contains provisions for the exportation of living aquatic resources (arts. 65-71). Chapter VIII deals with the introduction and re-exportation of living aquatic resources (arts. 72-74). Chapter IX contains general and final provisions (arts. 75-77).
