Ministerial Resolution No.21 of 2018 regarding the Executive Regulations of Federal Law No.23 of 1999 regarding the exploitation, protection and development of living water resources in the United Arab Emirates and its amendment.

This Regulation consisting of 28 articles aims at regulating the following (i) data to register practitioners of the fishing trade; (ii) information to register fishing boats; (iii) conditions to be registered; (iv) documents to submit applications for registration in the registry to the competent authority; (v) tasks of the competent Authority; (vi) duration of registration and conditions required to renew the registration; (vii) data to be included in the boat license; (viii) renewal of boat license and fishing license renewal application and related documents; (ix) prohibits to catch live water resources or docking or operating fishing boats in natural and artificial marine reserves without permission from the competent authority; (x) some fishing gears and methods; (xi) activities prohibited without a permit from the competent authority; (xii) conditions and controls for granting licenses and permits to establish aquaculture after obtaining a license from the competent authority and the approval of the Ministry; (xiii) permits and tools to practice marine sport; (xiv) protection of animal species; (xv) conditions to extract some species of shellfish; (xvi) conditions to rent fishing boat without its licensed owner; (xvii) equipment of fishing boats to transport living aquatic resources; (xviii) transport and re-export.
