Agreement Establishing the Caribbean Regional Fisheries Mechanism.

This Agreement provides for the establishment of the Caribbean Regional Fisheries Mechanism which consists of a Ministerial Council, the Caribbean Fisheries Forum and a Technical Unit. The Mechanism shall have as its objectives; the efficient management and sustainable development of marine and other aquatic resources within the jurisdictions of Member States; and the promotion and establishment of cooperative arrangements among interested States for the efficient management of shared, straddling or highly migratory marine and other aquatic resources. A reserve fund of the Mechanism and an executive committee of the Forum shall be established. The Arbitral Tribunal constituted in accordance with the present Agreement shall decide on disputes between members in appeal of decisions of the Ministerial Council.
