Abstract
This Act establishes the National Solid Waste Management Authority as a body corporate and defines its functions, powers and internal organization.
The Authority shall provide (hazardous) solid waste storage and handling facilities, convert existing dumps into sanitary landfill sites, develop new sites, promote recycling, prepare solid waste management plans and manage and direct the OECS Management Waste Project. The Act also defines regulation-making powers of the Minister.
