Abstract
This Act amends the principal Act by inserting new section 38A which lays down provisions relating to seized, detained or abandoned vessels in harbour. This Section defines the power conferred on the Port Manager; the conditions of selling a vessel that has been seized, detained or abandoned, such as: if abandoned vessel is causing or is likely to cause environmental damage in the harbour and its surrounding areas; and the proceeds of the sale of any ship or other seagoing vessel to be be forfeited to the Consolidated Fund after deductions.
