Public Utilities (Amendment) Act, 2004 (No. 7 of 2004).

This Act amends the Public Utilities Act with respect to determination of tariffs charged by the Authority for public services, the designated Commissioners of the Authority, the quorum for decision making by the Authority and maximum period of office of a Commission appointed by the Authority.
The tariffs charged by the Authority for public utilities supplied or provided by it to its customers shall be such as may be determined from time to time by the Authority after consultation with such persons or groups of persons representing the public and private sectors and with the approval of the Minister.
