Abstract
This Act makes amendments of a miscellaneous character to the Public Utilities Act.
The Act, among other things: (a) gives a new definition of “electricity”; (b) replaces in section 4 the word “Department” with the word “Division”; (c) amends provisions regarding the granting of licences to generate or supply electricity; (d) establishes a Commission for purposes of determining tariffs for the supply of services of this Act and provides for powers, functions and constitution of the Commission in the Fourth Schedule; (e) provides for control by the Cabinet of the Public Utilities Authority in exceptional circumstances; and (f) amends the First Schedule.
